Johnson Ferry Students

MEMPHIS

DETAILS

The summer Middle School mission trip to Memphis, TN, is an opportunity for 7th- 8th grade students. Our goal is to partner with Street Reach Ministries to share the love of Christ with people in Memphis through sports ministry, Vacation Bible School, and door-to-door evangelism. This trip is not a vacation—but an opportunity to take the next step in your faith journey by serving the Lord and the people of Memphis.

Destination: MEMPHIS TENNESEE

Each year, Johnson Ferry is privileged to partner with STREET REACH MINISTRIES. Street Reach has been working in this area for over 30 years and has developed many strong relationships with pastors and ministry leaders in the community. Their organization handles all lodging and ministry opportunities.

Cost: $375

The cost of the trip includes all transportation, lodging, meals (except travel meals), t-shirts, and materials. A $100 deposit is required at registration. ALL FINAL PAYMENTS are due at the Parent Meeting on Sunday, April 28.

STREET REACH MINISTRIES

WHAT WE DO

Each year, we partner with Street Reach to help reach those in their community. From sports ministry to Bible clubs to ministry projects, we use every opportunity to share the love of Christ.

  • Sports Ministry: playing sports at bible clubs like football, soccer, etc.
  • VBS: Vacation Bible School throughout the week for children ages 5-10
  • Door-to-door evangelism and community projects: these range depending on the day but they are in the same communities we do VBS in.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

K
L
How do we travel?

We travel in coach buses for the entire week.

K
L
Where do we stay?

We will stay at Street Reach in Memphis. The campus has a gym, cafeteria and is a gated community. The rooms are dorm style with bunk beds. Students will need to bring sheets and a pillow.

K
L
How are the students divided into groups?

Family Groups are divided based on grade and schools. Our goal is to split students into family groups with other students that they don’t know in order to build deeper relationships in the student ministry. Keep in mind that there are no bus/sleeping assignments and lots of free time so students will be able to hang out with their friends for a majority of the trip.

K
L
Can I invite a friend? What if they are not a JF member/attender?

Yes, it's not a problem! However, they must attend all the trainings listed above and they must provide a note from their student pastor. Also, please be aware that there is no guarantee that they will be placed in the same family group. (see question #3)

K

Do I have to attend all of the trainings?

All trainings are mandatory, but we understand that there may be unavoidable conflicts. If you anticipate missing more than one, you need to let us know ASAP.
