1. What is the first saying of Christ on the cross, and what relevance does it have, if any, to your life?
2. From what you know, what message was Rome trying to send when it crucified someone?
3. Does the manner of Jesus’ death have any significance in explaining the reason for His death? Why or why not? Explain your answer.
4. We talked at length today about sin. What is sin, and what difference does Christ’s death make for our sin?
5. Jesus dies praying prayers of forgiveness. What does this reveal about His heart for us? How should this affect how we treat others?

Discussion Questions:
1. Since we are talking about paradise today, if you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
2. The Bible starts with the Garden of Eden and ends with the “Garden” of the New Heavens and Earth (Revelation 21-22). In what ways does a “garden” teach us about where the world began and where it is headed?
3. What lessons do we learn from the two criminals? In what ways do we see ourselves in both of these criminals?
4. What is significant about Jesus saying, “Today you will be with me in paradise”? What does this teach us about heaven and how to get there?
5. According to Romans 12:1, we are to live in light of God’s mercy. What are the practical ways that God’s mercy influences how we make decisions and how we treat people?

2. In John 15, Jesus talks about abiding in Him. How do you know if you are abiding or not? Give examples from your own experience.
3. Jesus says that the Father prunes His vines. Why does God do this, and what are examples of this in your life?

3. Paul uses 3 analogies for how we should approach the ministry we do with/for God. What are they, and what do they teach us?
