Women’s Leader Development Cohort
The goal of this cohort is twofold. The first is to create space for our current leaders to build community, learning from one another and growing together. The second is to create space for new women, exploring the possibility of leading, teaching or mentoring to take the next step as a leader.
This cohort will offer four different gatherings, each one will feature a different topic being studied and discussed. There is no prep work needed; show up ready to listen and learn from one another on Sundays from 2-4pm in Room 356.
January Cohort
Walking Wisely: Christian Worldview and the Works God Has Planned for Us | with Lori Ballington | January 11
Did you know that God gives his people a cultural mandate in Genesis 1:28? Has God’s command to be fruitful and multiply, filling the earth and subduing it gone away or is it still valid for us? Lori Ballington, a recent graduate of the Colson Fellows program, will lead us in this session as we seek to answer that question and will equip us as leaders with a proper understanding of Christian worldview so we may better lean into the works God has for us. (Ephesians 2:10)
February Cohort
The Art of Application | with Dr. Clay Smith | February 1
We all know how to study what the Bible says – but how do we help people live what it means? In this session, Pastor Clay Smith will walk us through the art of application: moving from interpretation to transformation. Learn how to lead your group toward heart change, not just head knowledge, and discover why every good Bible study ends with a faithful, “So what?”
March Cohort
Helping Others Encounter Jesus Through the Gospels | with Susan Goodwin & Meredith Stuart | March 22
Reading each of the four gospels well helps us understand what Christ has done for us and how our lives connect to the great redemptive story. In our interactive time together, we will look at the Gospels, what makes them unique as a genre, how to understand them better, and how to walk with others through their beautiful story.
April Cohort
Everyone’s a Theologian | with Meredith Beatty | April 19
Whenever we talk about God we’re doing theology. The question then becomes whether our theology lines up with what the Bible says. In this session, we’ll explore the benefits of good theology for our groups and the detriments to the church when we ignore its importance. Along the way, you’ll discover that theology isn’t a dry academic discipline, but a pathway into greater joy and worship of our God and King.
