Home Groups

Home Groups

Home Groups offer a meaningful way to connect with 8–10 people outside the church walls while creating a welcoming space to invite friends and neighbors. We hope to build a network of homes across the North-Atlanta area so our church can be present and active where you live.

Home Groups launch every February and September. Once you’re placed in a group, we ask you to commit for one year. This shared commitment helps foster consistency, deeper relationships, and a strong foundation of trust.

Host a Group!

We are looking for Hosts that will create a welcoming space where people can connect, grow, and do life together. Hosts provide a consistent place for the group to gather and help foster an environment of hospitality.

Is there training for Hosts?

If you’re hosting a Home Group this season, we’d love to equip you and cheer you on! Host Training will be offered on January 25 and February 1 (attend one). We’ll cover what to expect, helpful tools and resources, and how to create a welcoming environment for your group.

What are some Home Group Host Responsibilities?

Creating Great Conversations – We want facilitators of great spiritual conversations more than teachers in this format. We will provide a process that is so simple to follow that you can focus on connecting and creating helpful conversations. Most groups end up sharing the facilitator role once everyone is used to the process of a meeting.

Opening Your Home – It doesn’t have to be a huge home or perfectly put together. We are serving others by opening our homes to meet, and the group may even offer to share in that responsibility as you get to know each other.

Committing to Consistently Meet for a Year – Each group needs a leader who will help with the consistency and commitment of the group. At the end of the first year, the group can discuss committing to another year or trying something new.

Creating Opportunities for The Word to Work – These groups need to be in scripture each week, and the host or leader will have questions to ask each week that help facilitate a culture of growth in God’s Word.

Training & Check Ins – We will provide you will all the tools you need to get off to a great start. We will also provide opportunities to check in and get help for any situations within your group.

Can invite specific people to my group?

Yes! We love it when hosts invite a partner couple to serve alongside them, and you’re also welcome to invite neighbors and friends right from the beginning. As we launch groups, it’s helpful if you’re open to welcoming others who may join your group.

Join a Group!

Home Groups are a place to build meaningful relationships, grow in your faith, and experience community beyond Sunday mornings. As you join a Home Group, you’ll gather regularly with others to study God’s Word, pray together, and encourage one another through every season of life.

What happens in a Home Group meeting?

Our Home Groups follow a rhythm that creates space to connect relationally, open God’s Word together, and pray about next steps. You’ll have the opportunity to share your stories, support one another, and walk together as you grow in your faith. Groups typically meet weekly for about two hours, and each group will talk through the specific timing and frequency of meetings at the Launch Event.

Do I have to be at the Launch Event?

The Launch Event is a meaningful first step for your group as you will spend time getting to know each other, establishing goals & logistics for the group, and setting up your first meeting. We strongly encourage you to be there!

What if I don't want to join yet?

If you’re not ready to commit to a Home Group right now, that’s totally okay! We encourage you to wait until you feel ready before filling out any forms. If you’re interested for the future, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team with any questions as you think through the process.

FAQ's

How do you match people?

First, we love giving our hosts the opportunity to invite a partner couple to join them as they begin hosting. As people sign up for a group, we ask a questions about personality and interests that help us create groups that connect well together, while still prioritizing our main criteria of matching people by location and availability.

What do Home Groups study?

We do not require Home Groups to follow a specific curriculum. Our focus is on helping each group directly engage with God’s Word. Because of that, every Home Group will look a little different—some may discuss the weekly sermon, others might study a book, and others may walk through a book of the Bible together. No matter the format, the goal is the same: to center your time on Scripture through the 3 Thirds Method and Discovery Bible Study.

How do we handle childcare?

Group members will need to make arrangements for childcare during group meetings. We can provide a financial supplement for childcare expenses with a childcare voucher.
