SPECIAL NEEDS

Creating a place where everyone can SHINE.

Our special needs ministry exists to provide community, inclusion, and a place to belong for individuals with special needs and their families.

HEREJoin our special needs ministry for a sensory-friendly simulcast of the 3pm Christmas Eve service. We’ll keep the lights and volume low, and there will be plenty of space to move around. Sensory tools, headphones, and a sensory room will be available as needed. All ages are welcome! We will even close with Silent Night by (battery-operated) candlelight!

This is not a drop-off event, but your whole family is welcome to join us. For more information click HERE.

SPECIAL NEEDS DISCIPLE-MAKERS

We are looking for volunteers who are teachable, kind, and who love God and others! No prior experience with Special Needs is required—just a willing heart!

All applicants must interview with the Special Needs team, and if selected, will be invited to observe as a “Potential Buddy.” Before serving in any class, volunteers must also complete both the Special Needs Volunteer Application and Safe Harbor process.

WHAT IS A BUDDY?

A Buddy supports a person with special needs and helps them thrive at church through social, physical, and/or behavioral support. But the most important job a Buddy does is point our families to Jesus. Some Buddies serve one-on-one in a typical classroom, while others provide support to small groups in a class dedicated to people with special needs. No experience is necessary to be a Buddy. We are looking for people who are teachable, kind, and love Jesus. If you want to learn more about being a Buddy, email [email protected] or fill out an application.

CHILDREN/PRESCHOOL INCLUSION

We believe God created all children and loves each and every one of them! We have a place for your child. Complete a Special Needs Profile, and someone from our ministry will contact you about placing your child in the proper class.

We would love to provide a place for your child. Due to a surge in new visitors, we have a shortage of buddies across our program. A parent or caregiver will need to remain in the class until we have a buddy who can provide support.

STUDENTS

Our Student Connect Group meets every Sunday at 10am and Student Discipleship meets Wednesdays from 6-8pm in Room 108. Each participant must complete a Special Needs Profile. No registration is required.
