Happy Easter! We had an incredible Easter Service here in the DR. Logan preached from the gospel of John chapter 20 and unpacked four moments in the story of Mary Magdalene:
1. The moment of desperation (verses 11-13)
2. The moment of recognition (verses 14-16)
3. The moment of connection (verse 17)
4. The moment of declaration (verse 18)
It was a powerful morning! After worship, we had lunch and went into a time of team building and ministry prep. Students practiced their VBS skits, prepped our food bags for food distribution, and wrote thank-you notes to our translators and bus drivers.
For team building, students participated in several sports while learning so much about each other. It was so much fun!
We ended our day with a delicious dinner and took a group photo… see if you can find your kid in this picture! Our final session tonight focused on the story of John 20, when Jesus sent out his disciples. Courtney encouraged the students to take the news of Life to the people of the DR. Please pray for our team. Tomorrow is our first day of ministry!
