Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed! Alleluia!
On this Resurrection Sunday, our teams split up to their ministry sites and attended Easter services at the host churches they will be serving this week (five churches across the area). For most, these services were much different than what they are used to at Johnson Ferry. And yet, there was a sweet, undeniable spirit of worship in each place.
It was a beautiful reminder that the Church is so much bigger than one building or one country. As our students worshiped alongside believers across five different congregations, they got a glimpse of the global Church—united in the same risen Savior, declaring the same good news: Christ is alive.
Some of our students even had the opportunity to share their testimonies during the local parish services. They are already stepping boldly into what God has for them and making an impact!
After church, the different ministry teams spent the afternoon getting in one last practice session for Holiday Clubs that begin on Monday. The students are doing great. They are really getting into the song choreography and skits… maybe even getting into their roles a little TOO well 🤣
All family groups gathered together at Saltburn-by-the-Sea for a classic dinner of fish and chips, followed by a sweet (and very windy!) time of worship on the beach. As high tide rolled in a little faster than expected, a few students got an unexpected (and very cold!) toe-dip in the North Sea.
During worship on the beach, Logan taught from Luke 6:46, where Jesus asks, “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I tell you?” In this moment, Jesus is speaking to His followers, including His disciples, and calling out the disconnect between what we say and how we live.
Logan challenged the team with the same question Jesus posed: Why don’t our actions always match our words? He encouraged everyone to check their hearts and invited them not just to hear Jesus’ words, but to actually live them out and let Him change their lives. It was a meaningful time of reflection as the team prepared their hearts for ministry.
To end our time at the coast, everyone made the climb up to the cliff overlook. There was no better way to close out Easter Sunday than watching the sunset over the ocean together.
We wrapped up our night by returning to the hotel for some prayer and family group time.
Holiday Clubs and Camp of Champions start Monday! Please pray for a larger-than-expected turnout from the community, open hearts and minds for sharing Jesus’ love, and for Johnson Ferry to be filled with supernatural energy to match action with words, as well as uncommon compassion for the children they will serve.
We are here because Jesus conquered death and the grave. He did that for us. He did that for the children of England. He is the only one who could, the only one that can be called “Lord, Lord!” We do even THIS in remembrance of Him!
He is RISEN!
He is Risen INDEED!
