Local Missions

Local mission opportunities are designed to engage women in understanding how they can touch hearts and show compassion as Christ did to the wounded and brokenhearted in our community.

My Sister’s House is part of the Atlanta Mission and provides emergency shelter, residential recovery, transitional housing and children’s services to hurting women and children in Atlanta. Their goal is to end homelessness. We have been able to join their mission to bring Christ’s healing power to women in crisis by providing an on-going weekly Bible study for the women residents.

Hearts for Community, our Spring Event, provides an opportunity for women to go out and serve others in need.

Preschool Childcare

About the Program

The Childcare Ministry at Johnson Ferry provides a loving atmosphere of supervised play and structured learning for children from birth through kindergarten through a staff of trained, employed teachers.  They utilize curriculum which includes age-appropriate  Bible learning activities.

When is preschool childcare available?

Available during most Women's Ministry daytime activities (birth - kindergarten) and Wednesday evening Bible studies (age 3 and under) by advance reservation to Women's Ministry. Other activities for older children are also available on Wednesday evening (choir, missions, etc.) by online reservation through the Worship and Arts Ministry and the Children's Ministry.

How do I make a preschool childcare reservation?

It is necessary to make your reservation one week prior to starting a Bible study or attending an event.  You may register online for childcare when registering online for Bible study or events.  This is the easiest and most convenient way to register.   If online registration is not available, for Bible Study childcare call 770.794.2981; for ministry event childcare call 770.794.2974.

For cancellation on a weekly basis, call 770.565.0854, ext. 3005.

Detailed information about policies and checklists is available by calling 770.794.2995.
