Volunteers need to attend a 2-hour orientation training before working at AUM. TheShepherd's Inn, Fuqua Hall and the Community Center are located in downtown Atlanta. On this site, we offer crisis shelter & long-term residential recovery programs for men.
 

Weekly volunteers - lay counselors (training provided), clothing ministry, front office. Also need Registered, LPN nurses, RDMS sonographers, Medical Assistants, Lab Techs to administer pregnancy tests and/or ultrasounds, and lay people to sit in during ultrasounds with our nurse as a witness; Bible studies, nutrition, lawn work, maintenance; painting, knitting booties, caps, and blankets, newsletter mailouts.

They need non-perishable food items - fresh fruit, cereal, cheese, eggs, prepared evening meals, daily and evening childcare; hygiene and clean products. Women to make sandwiches and bring to the children for lunch and lead arts & crafts any time 1-3 pm Monday - Thursdays. Help with the Angel Closet and seasonal needs with lawn care.

Need help in the clothes closet, office clerical help for teens and adults Mon., Tues. or Wed.  Help with early morning breakfasts on Thursday and Friday.  Assistance with shower ministry to homeless - women on Wed and men on Thurs. mornings.  Children welcome in clothes ministry.

Happy Birthday Jesus in November - December - need volunteers at their parties sorting gifts, counting gifts and filling gift bags, picking up toys, moving toys in and out of storage.

Need healthcare kit items like band aids, Neosporin, soap, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste & floss. Quarterly needs administrative duties of addressing, stuffing envelopes and mailing.  Ongoing need for data entry and computer work. There is also a need for greeter and someone to pray over the patient prayer cards.

Special Event in September annually.  Rumble for Kids motorcycle benefit ride in October - benefit Collectors Doll Show and sale.

Paint houses and clean yards for elderly widows. Painting on Sat. 9am - 4pm and needs 10-15 people to complete house in 1 day. Group of 5-8 can scrape and prime house or paint final coat. Yard clean up on Sa. 9am - 1pm mowing, raking, debris removal 5-15 peoople. Considerable cost to RSM, so must complete job volunteers sign up for.

Volunteers needed to pack food boxes. With training, volunteers can answer phone.Open M-Th.Volunteers should be at least 10 yrs. old. Youth groups must have adult supervision.

Ministry of Samaritan's Purse to bring joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God's love. Brochures will be in the kiosks by Nov. 1. JFBC has been the relay center for this area and we will need lots of volunteers for the entire week of collection, usually the week before Thanksgiving.
