Adoption/Foster Care
We have a desire to care for children in need. God has a particular concern for the fatherless and commands his people to have this concern as well. God refers to himself as "Father to the fatherless." (Ps. 8:5). Think about that. What is God like? James 1:27 urges us to practice true religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father by visiting orphans in their affliction. This word "visit" is the same root word from which we get our word "pastor". James says we should shepherd the orphan. Through adoption and foster care, God can provide the gift of children to caring families and a home to a child in need.
If you are considering adoption or foster care, please visit our Facebook page or contact Jim Watterson at Jim.watterson@jfbc.org or 770-795-3222.
