Sundays, October 6, 13, 20, & 27.
First-time expectant parents—you have a big job ahead and we want to put some tools in your diaper bag to help you through this new season of life! These compact sessions will give you great information about how to parent as a team, divide responsibilities, and great strategies to build greater bonds between your new baby and each other. Experts from the fields of marriage, parenting and family relationships lead the study in this FREE four-week class.
The following topics are presented in the Bump workshop, and may be presented in any order based on availability of presenters:
Extra #1 on October 13: Prenatal / Post-natal Music Impact Overview - Your baby hears clearly from the sixth month in utero and moves his body rhythm to his mother’s speech. At 5 months, your baby responds to sound and melody. Calm music produces relaxation; loud music generates agitation. In this mini-session you’ll learn practical ways and songs to mold your baby’s sense of language, increase the bond between baby and parent, and how to develop comfortable environments for your baby. We’ll also offer tools to help mom and dad decrease stress. No additional registration required. Please arrive as close to 11 a.m. as possible.
Extra #2 on October 27: “BUMP Bonus” – This full session is in partnership with a physical therapist who specializes in children's & women's health. She'll be presenting some great information about helping to recover an excellent level of health for marital relationships, and help set realistic expectations for your infant's development. This is BONUS MATERIAL not offered in the other BUMP sessions. Separate registration (required)
"Of all the classes I took before my precious daughter was born, the BUMP classes did the best job of helping set my expectations for postpartum reality. The honest and open dialogue about sleep, health, feeding, and postpartum depression did a great job to prepare me for my daughter’s arrival. Additionally, I immediately felt a connection to the Preschool Ministry on the first Sunday our daughter entered a classroom. With this preparation, we were already familiar with the space, saw smiling faces we recognized, and knew that Johnson Ferry had an amazing space prepared for us." —Christina
