This season, we have made some changes to JF Soccer. Please read below.
Moving forward, JF Soccer will be a league specifically for middle school aged children. JF Soccer will include two practices a week for each child.
The first practice will include a mix of technical and tactical skills taught by the team's individual head and assistant coaches. The focus at this practice will be developing the team spiritually while also teaching the team how to perform well together by reinforcing technical skills in a tactical manner, such as positional awareness, making effective decisions during the game, passing and moving, and understanding game dynamics.
The second practice will be a technical skills based clinic led by a contracted professional coach, and the teams' individual coaches will be present to assist their teams. Children will enhance their soccer basics with drills and games geared toward advanced techniques in skills such as: dribbling, passing, and shooting.
Games will be officiated by a minimum of two officials.
5th Graders Interested in JF Soccer
In the interim while we implement our changes, for the 2018 season only, 5th graders will have the option to play Upward Soccer or JF Soccer (not both); however, there will be limited spots for 5th graders in JF Soccer. If you need more information on the difference, contact Lauren.Hudgins@jfbc.org to see what is the right fit for your child. All children ages 3 through 4th grade are invited to join our Upward Soccer league. View more information about Upward Soccer.
There will be no JF Soccer Monday, September 24 - Saturday, September 29 for Cobb County Fall Break. All programs will resume on Monday, October 1.
