Conservatory for the Arts

The Conservatory offers a private music lesson program by which individuals can come to the church and take lessons Monday through Saturday. Piano, voice, guitar and all band and orchestra instruments are offered. The Conservatory also offers group art lessons. The Conservatory is staffed by Christian instructors who are qualified and competent in their individual areas of expertise.

Conservatory Music Lessons

Art Camps Coming this Summer!  For 1st through 5th grade. We'll offer 3 sessions, Monday - Thursday 9:00am to 12:00pm.

This is a hands-on, multi medium, project oriented camp.  Professional artist Sarah Emrich will be teaching technique, as well as some fun art history and theory.  This small group class is approprate for beginners and students with artistic expertise and experience.  It is age appropriate for the mature 5 year old who can sit through a 3 hour class, up through the 11/12 year old.  $85 per session includes all supplies.

 

Music Instruction

Music instruction is adapted to the successful development and progress of the individual student. It is offered in thirty minute, forty-five minute, and one hour time blocks. Please see the faculty list below for instruments currently offered.

Schedule

Lessons are scheduled daily, Monday through Saturday. They begin no earlier than 9:00 a.m., and conclude no later than 9:00 p.m. Students are assigned to the instructors and classes based on 1) the date of paid registration, 2) whether or not the student is a returning student, 3) the student's preference of time, availability of instructors and classes, and area of interest.

Calendar

Fall semester

The Fall semester is 16 weeks. It begins in August, one week following the Cobb County school start, and ends in early December.  One week in December is set aside for make-up lessons.

We only break for Labor Day,  and Tuesday through Friday of Thanksgiving week. All other days, including Cobb County teacher work days, etc. are considered regular lesson days.

Spring Semester

The Spring semester is also 16 weeks. It begins on January 9 and goes through May 5. Make up week is May 7-12. We only break for Cobb County Spring break,April 2nd - April 6th.

Summer Semester

begins the day after Memorial Day, (but jump in anytime), and is an 8 week session with a little more flexibility for pre-planned out of town trips and camps communicated to your teacher. Most teachers will teach through the first week of August. We ask that students commit to either 4, 6, or 8 hours of class over the summer. 

Tuition

Fall and Spring

There is an annual non-refundable registration fee of $25 (normally paid in the Fall), which must accompany the application and enrollment form.  Tuition is payable by the semester, and is $385 for half hour, $575 for 45 minutes, and $765 for one hour lessons for the 16-week semester.

Pro-rated amounts apply when beginning in the middle of the semester. The pro-rated amount is $25 per half hour/$50 per hour.  (There is a slight discount when taking a full semester.) Half of the semester fee is due prior to the first lesson, with the balance due in thirty days. A late fee of $10 will be assessed for every 30 day period until the balance is paid in full. You may enroll and register online. We will then contact you to discuss class times & instructors.

Summer

The 8 week summer is a flat fee of $190 for 8 half hour lessons, $285 for 45 minute lessons, and $385 for one hour lessons.  Pro-rated tuition is possible for students beginning later in the session. 

Make Up Lessons

It is the student's responsibility to contact the teacher if a lesson is to be missed.  Make sure that you have your teacher's contact information.  All numbers are posted outside the office door, and some are listed with the faculty information below. If the teacher cannot be reached, the student should notify the Conservatory office. Any lesson missed or cancelled due to the instructor is the responsibility of the instructor to make up. Make-up lessons are only granted for an absence in which the Instructor is notified  at least six hours prior to the lesson time. An excused absence is: a) student illness or b) extreme emergency,or c) death in the family. (This does not include sports, school, church activities, etc.) Only one make-up lesson per semester will be granted. No lessons will be made up if they are missed due to late payments (the student will be charged a full semester fee).

Withdrawal Policy

A 30 day written notice is required if a student wishes to terminate music instruction. The student will be financially responsible for lessons that occur within the 30 days from the date notice is given, and a refund will be given for the balance of the semester. The registration fee is not refundable.
