Children's Ministry

Johnson Ferry's Children's Ministry strives to provide a Biblical foundation for a lifetime relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Our core values are built into the very heart of every children's program:

  • To be more like Jesus
  • To have knowledge and love of God's Word
  • To be mission-minded
  • To be child-friendly
  • To provide relationship building opportunities

Living a Christ-centered lifestyle with the ability to apply God's Word is Johnson Ferry's focus of teaching while providing a safe, secure, challenging and fun environment that is developmentally age appropriate.

Visiting Johnson Ferry

We love visitors and cannot wait to meet your family on Sunday mornings!

To make your visit as easy as possible, please park in Visitor Parking on the South side of the building and enter through the South Atrium. A friendly face will greet you at the door and show you to our Children's Visitor Desk where your children will be placed in Sunday Bible Study classes and given security nametags. Afterwards, a host will escort your family and answer any questions you may have.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Sunday Mornings for Children

Bible study classes are offered for children Birth through 5th grade at all three hours. Please check in at the Visitor's Desk in the South Atrium to visit a Sunday school class. NOISE Children's Worship is also available for K-3rd grade at the 9:50 hour.

Sunday Mornings in Ignite (5th Grade)

Join us in the Matchbox at 9:50 a.m. for a special Sunday school experience. Come early to enjoy time with other 5th graders as we play games and hang out. When Bible Study starts, we meet together for a large group lesson and then break into gender-specific small groups. It's a morning that you won't want to miss!

Ignite Sunday Bible Study is also offered at 8:30 and 11:15 in a traditional Sunday school format.

Get Involved

IGNITE is a collaboration between Children's Ministry leadership and parents. As it says in Deuteronomy, parents are to be the child's primary spiritual leader and so it is our desire to partner with you in the teaching and discipling of your child. Our goal is for IGNITE to be a family-oriented ministry in which parents are actively involved in all that their children are learning and experiencing.

Areas to be involved include:

  • 8:30 a.m. or 11:15 a.m. 5th grade Sunday Bible Study teacher
  • 9:50 a.m. small group leader
  • Substitute teacher or small group leader
  • Chaperone for IGNITE events
  • Prayer Team Member

For more information about getting involved in IGNITE, please contact Children's Ministry.

Children's Worship

In Psalm 150, we are called to make a joyful noise to God and that's exactly what we are doing in children's worship.

Join us at 9:50 in the Chapel for a time of worship, Bible teaching, skits, games and more as we praise God together and learn about His Word.
This service is for K - 3rd Grade. Doors open 15 minutes before service time.

Green Light Ministry

Children with special needs and their family members face more than their share of red lights as they travel through life.

Unfortunately, for many of these families, the church has been just another one of those red lights along the road. At Johnson Ferry, we think it is time to flip the switch! Our Green Light Ministry is designed especially for children, grades K-5, who have special needs. After all, Jesus commanded us: "Go and make disciples of all people." - Matthew 28:19.
