-- Pray for God to bless JF as we move ahead August 8th with so many facility changes.
-- Pray for God to bless the fall sermon series on James.
Sheryl Beck - Coordinator of Children’s Ministries
Staff: Lynn Wolford, Ann Marie Frazier, Eden Hutchins, Christina Metry, Holly Kirtley Randy McCown, Cindy Barber.
-- Praise the Lord for the new teachers coming into this ministry area.
-- Pray that all our teachers gain a strong connection to the children in their classes and are empowered by God to teach His truths.
-- Pray for flexibility in the hearts of parents as we navigate the transition into the new construction classrooms and area.
-- Pray for Sheryl as she communicates the vision and mission of children’s ministry this year to our leadership.

-- Pray for a smooth transition for ladies in locating Bible study classes with the new room numbers.
-- Ask for many more ladies in the community to be drawn to the study of His Word and praise that we have space to accommodate the needs
-- Pray for women to find the style of worship and the time in our new schedule that fits their lifestyle.
-- Pray for more decisions for Christ.
Danny Downing - Minister, Recreation

-- Pray for the Impact Cheerleading Coaches. We have the most girls ever in Impact Cheerleading and we are very excited about our coaching staff. Please pray as the teach and disciple the girls on their squads.
-- Pray for Upward Soccer and Upward Flag Football. Pray that we will have more kids register in the next couple of weeks so that we will have the opportunity to share with more families.
-- Upward Basketball – Pray that the new gym will be completed by the end of October so that we can stay on schedule for our Upward Basketball season. Pray that we will have a record number of players register this year.

-- Pray for the “Decisions” Bible Study, which will be taught by various staff and SBS teachers, to enable participants to become better acquainted with the teachers and staff.

Bobby Gatlin – Minister, High School Students

-- Pray for the high school students and the Sunday morning programs during the room relocation period August 8-Nov. 1.
-- Pray for the beginning of a new year of ministry with small groups and adult leaders.
-- Pray that we would continue to find ways to reach out into the community to lead teenagers to Christ.
Tom Gray – Minister, Men
Staff: Janice Morris.
-- Ask God to bless our upcoming Holy Smoke community outreach and charity event, occurring on Labor Day, Sept. 6.
-- Ask God to stir up a mentoring movement to cross the generations among the men of JF.
-- Ask God to raise up many men and sons to go on our Mexico and Jamaica mission trips. Ask the Lord to help us know exactly how He wants us to make the biggest impact possible in these places.
Greg Hebert – Operations Director

-- Pray that the Facilities staff will have the endurance to make all the moves/setups necessary in the transition for this special time period.

-- Pray that we would maintain patience and a servant heart when things don’t go well in the transition.
-- Pray for success in my department for building a strong discerning and caring team and for safety and good health in the new fiscal year.

-- Pray for a quick adjustment to the newly-renovated Sanctuary platform on August 8, maximizing the use of the new space.
-- Pray for a quick adjustment and division of labor over the three new service times, effective August 8.
-- Ask for God’s blessing on the Orchestra Pops Concert at East Cobb Park on Saturday, August 28, at 6:00 pm. May it be an effective outreach tool into our community for the church and God’s kingdom.

-- Pray for consistency in our weekly Bible study gatherings on Sundays, despite all the transition due to the construction.

Ron Hughes – Minister, Pastoral Care

-- Pray for continued growth and development of the Stephen Ministry leadership team.
-- We will start up of 2 new Stephen Ministry congregations, one in the JFBC Chinese Church and in the International Baptist Church in Honolulu, HI.
-- Beginning of a ministry to Military families.
-- We are hosting a Stephen Ministry Workshop to introduce other congregations in the area to Stephen Ministry. There are many details and logistics to coordinate ahead of time.
Paul Jimenez – National Ministry Associate, Global Ministries

-- National Trips -- please pray for continued interest in local and national trips. Please pray for trip leaders to be raised up in conjunction with new areas and sites to reach.
-- Church plants -- please pray for wisdom and discernment as to the requests for assistance in church plants across U.S. and involvement in planting networks.
-- Ethnic Churches and ESL -- please pray for ethnic church pastors and leaders along w ESL leadership for new year. Please pray for renewed passion for reaching ethnic peoples right on our campus.
Barrett Johnson – Minister, Young Marrieds and Families

-- New CoupleWise small group mentoring for couples launches this fall. Pray that we would connect people together in Spirit-filled groups that bear much fruit.
-- Pray for the leadership and success for new classes starting in November, including individual classes for parents of teens at Lassiter, Pope and Walton, a new young married adult class, a Multi-Generational/All Ages class, and an Adoption Discovery class.
Lisa Joyner – Guest Care Coordinator

-- Pray that visitors would feel the Spirit of Christ despite the chaos of change and confusion and that they would know this is for God’s glory!
-- Pray that our new partnerships with Murdock Elementary, Hightower Middle School and Walton High School would be fruitful and give our congregation a way to minister to the community in new ways.
-- Pray for all those in our community who are not yet experiencing a relationship with Christ – that He would soften their hearts and provide opportunities to use us in reaching them.
-- Pray for God’s leading for a Minister of Guest and New Member Care.

-- God has blessed each of us; may we bless Him and His work by our faithfulness in giving….both in Ministries Budget giving and continued God’s Plans Beyond Ours campaign giving. Pray for God’s specific leading in developing 2010-11 Ministries Budget.
-- Continued progress and safety in the finishing construction process. May the Lord be honored through this new tool to reach and disciple people for Jesus Christ.
Thomas Nelson – Minister, to College and Singles

-- Pray for Thomas, that he would have a time of rest and rejuvenation after our busy summer before we jump into the school visits and football tailgates that come with the fall.
-- Pray for our new freshmen. Pray that they would feel connected to our ministry as they go off to school and that the JFBC college ministry would be a place that they feel comfortable and want to bring their friends.
-- Pray for our young singles, that they would fine a place (SBS class or night time bible study) to connect.
-- Pray for our singles classes to reach out to visitors.
Dottie Poythress – Bookmark and Library Director

-- Pray that God will call out many to become part of the JF Prayer Room and to the various opportunities in the JF Prayer Ministry.
-- Pray for more updaters for Prayer Room requests.
-- Pray for God’s clear leading regarding more opportunities for corporate prayer.
-- Praise for over 250 people who have joined Bryant and Anne’s SBC Presidency Prayer Team.
Pamela Vandewalker – Minister, Worship Production and Creativity

-- Pray that our AMEN! (children’s choirs for 3rd-5th graders) will be a powerful tool for
these children to understand that music/art is a way to praise God. Also, pray for lack of confusion with the new format and new rooms.
-- Pray for Tiny Tots and Tunes (music for babies – 3 years old), that many unchurched will come to this ministry and that there will be ease in using some new rooms this year.
-- Pray for a smooth transition with new room numbers on the first night of Children’s Choir Worship Quest (August 11th) Pray for a fruitful year in Children’s Choir.
-- Pray for great worship in the Pit during this transition time
-- Pray for an increase in our adult choir numbers as we have a bit of increased space in the choir loft.
Jill Warbington – Communications Director

-- Pray for a new website to launch in September. Pray for our web staff as we prepare for the launch, for clarity, discernment and wisdom.
-- Pray for our time management and the ability to work smart
-- Pray that the Lord will be honored, and that we will reach others for Christ on the web.
-- Pray for the ability to be good stewards of resources (information, time and finances) as we approach the opening of our new facility.
-- Pray we’ll continue our focus on pleasing God first with our efforts and man second; also, that we be clear and concise with our congregation and our community as we communicate opportunities for worship and service at JFBC.
Ricky Wheeler, Associate Pastor, Global Ministries

-- Pray that we finish the 2010 year strong as we have about 19 short-term teams being sent out this fall. PTL that we are on pace for another record year!
-- For discernment as our Global Ministries Team considers budget requests and disbursements to the 80 plus partners we serve alongside locally and globally
-- Pray for our national and international ministry partners facing financial challenges during these tough economic times.
Kristi Williams – Coordinator, Preschool Ministry

-- For new preschool leaders to gracefully lead God’s sheep – both volunteer teachers and helpers, and the young children of our church family.
-- We are asking for God’s provision of our goal to be fully staffed in all preschool classes before we begin each Sunday, and we are still waiting to discover how God will fill that need in several classrooms. At the current time, we need approximately 8 teachers at the early hour, 17 teachers at the middle hour, 29 teachers at the late worship hour.
Art Wilder – Associate Pastor, Pastoral Care

-- That we would see God’s hand freeing hearts that are being bound by Satan’s lies and deceptions, bringing destruction upon themselves, their families and their Lord’s reputation among the lost.
-- That we would see God’s hand healing hearts that are hurting and wounded by life’s tragedies and difficulties.
-- That we would see God’s hand transforming hearts by the power of His Gospel of love so that rebels would be willing to turn toward Christ and embrace Him as their Savior and Lord.
It's that time of year again, to sign up to serve in the Prayer MInistry in the coming year, August 2011 - July 2012.
If you are a Prayer Room Intercessor, you may initial the Prayer Room Schedules in each Prayer Room as an indication that you will continue to serve at that particular day/hour.
You may also email the Prayer Ministry office to let us know you would like to continue to serve as you currently are (please list the current opportunties in which you participate) or if you'd like to change and serve in a different area of the Prayer MInistry.
