According to author, Peggy Vaughan, in The Monogamy Myth, approximately 60% of husbands and 40% of wives will have an affair at some time in their marriage.  Extramarital affairs run rampant in our society, and the church is not immune.  In spite of high ideals and moral convictions, many people find themselves giving in to the temptation of an affair. After an affair is discovered, then what? Can trust ever be recaptured?  Is there hope for recovery?  The answer is yes.  God can restore marriages shattered by adultery when both partners are willing to turn to Him and be healed.  The process won’t be pleasant or easy, but through God’s grace and the help of trusted counselors, restoration is possible.
