Ignite — 5th Grade at Johnson Ferry

Our vision for IGNITE comes from the scripture 2 Timothy 1:6 which states, "Fan into flame the gift of God which is in you." Our purpose is to IGNITE the hearts of preteens for God and to "fan into flame" the gifts that He has placed within each one of them.

This Month in Ignite

Hey Everyone!

We have had a great year in Ignite so far! I really enjoyed our Newspaper Party and I hope you did too! I really enjoyed the playing with and throwing newspaper while getting really dirty (I hope the black ink has come off of everyone!). We will have more fun events coming up in 2012.

Have you ever wondered if God has a plan for the world? What about a plan for you? Your friends? Your family? If God does have a plan, how do you find out what it is and what are you supposed to do about it? God always has a plan and He wants to share the plan with you. For the next 4 weeks, we will be talking about God’s Plan in Ignite. I hope you can be there to join in on the discussion.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving and Christmas season with your family and friends. I look forward to seeing you in Ignite!

In Christ’s Love,
Miss Christina

Sunday Mornings in Ignite

Join us in the Matchbox at 9:50 on Sunday mornings for a special Sunday school experience. Come early and enjoy time with other 5th graders as we play games and hang out. When Sunday school starts, we meet together for a large group lesson and then break into gender-specific small groups. It's a Sunday morning that you won't want to miss!

Ignite Sunday Bible Study is also offered at 8:30 and 11:15 as a traditional Sunday school format.

Get Involved

IGNITE is a collaboration between Children's Ministry leadership and parents. As it says in Deuteronomy, parents are to be the child's primary spiritual leader and so it is our desire to partner with you in the teaching and discipling of your child. Our goal is for IGNITE to be a family-oriented ministry in which parents are actively involved in all that their children are learning and experiencing.

Areas to be involved include:

  • 8:30 a.m. or 11:15 a.m. 5th grade Sunday Bible Study teacher
  • 9:50 a.m. small group leader
  • Substitute teacher or small group leader
  • Chaperone for IGNITE events
  • Prayer Team Member

For more information about getting involved in IGNITE, please contact Christina.
