The United States holds many impressive records, leading the world in many areas. Perhaps our most alarming record is that the USA has the highest divorce rate in the world. Although divorce is more common than ever before, it is no less painful and damaging to adults and children alike, leaving a wake of woundedness and suffering. One look at the pain in the eyes of a child will tell you why God hates divorce. Most people who have experienced separation or divorce can tell you the pain they have experienced and how they wish things would have worked out differently. Forget blame. It’s not about whose fault it was or who did more things that were wrong. God isn’t interested in assigning blame. He is interested in meeting people where they are, and through a relationship with Himself, bringing hope and healing to everyone affected.
