How Do I Participate in This Forum?

How do I post in the forum?

You must be registered on our site to post in this forum. It only takes a few minutes to register, so please do so. Just click the “REGISTER” text in the right hand top corner of the page.

How do I make a forum entry?

Easy -- click the title of the forum you want to make an entry into.  Then click on the “New Thread” button at the top of the forum.  Our forum is a moderated forum, so your post will first be approved before it will appear in the forum.

How do I edit or delete a post?

Unless you are a site admin or forum moderator you can only edit or delete your own posts. You can edit a post (sometimes for only a limited time after it was made) by clicking the edit button for the relevant post. Please note that normal users cannot delete a post.

What are Moderators?

Moderators are individuals (or groups of individuals) whose job it is to look after the running of the forums from day to day. They have the power to approve, edit or delete in the forum they moderate. Generally moderators are there to prevent people going off-topic or posting abusive or offensive material.

Important Note For Postings:

Our web site has a session timeout of about 20 minutes. If you are going to type in a post which may take this long to enter, you should consider typing it first in a simple text editor, such as Notepad (Windows) or SimpleText (Mac). Once you have typed the post, you can log in and then copy and paste the post into the Forum.

If you choose to type your post directly into the Forum, and your session times out before you submit the post, you will be prompted to log in again, and you will lose everything that you typed. For safety, select the text of your post before you submit and copy it. Then if your session has ended, you will be able to simply paste it back in and re-submit.
